  • September!

omg! hello! hi!!! it has been a very long time since i've been able to sit down and have the urge to update this website, given the state of the world, but i'm finally ready to sit, sip my tea, and clickity clack on my keyboard

what a month september was, ya'll! there are always a bajillion birthdays (including both mine and my fiancee's) so it feels like it goes by so quickly.

i've watched a TON of new things, started and ended a lot of video games, and also started and finished a book or two. It's been productive, but I also have the itch that i could do more... but you know, relaxing is necessary, too!!!

the freshest on my mind is fricken ALIEN EARTH! did you SEE that finale? i'm so stoked they've green lit a season 2 because otherwise I would be absolutely devastated. i'm so in love with the way the ending came about and honestly, i'm not sure their plans for the future season but considering how much i enjoyed this season, i'm sure i'll also enjoy the next. AH! i won't spoil it, but if you need a good show, i'd say give it a go. you probably don't even need to see the movies, but it will help with your understanding of the world and history.

i binged the show legion with rick! i'm slowly learning more about the marvel and dc universes, and only recently watched the xmen movies (only the first 2 so far) so it was SUCH a treat! i don't think you need to have watched any marvel or xmen or ANYTHING to enjoy that series. i was NOT ready for the ending and spiraled into a google frenzy afterwards to try and grasp for more content and understanding. the series main character is a bit different from the comic character, but god... it was such a crazy watch and i almost wish i could wipe my memory and watch it again fresh. i've felt that A LOT lately.

like with the kimestu no yaiba movie! gosh, we binged the last two seasons right up to the day we went to see the movie. finishing the last episode of the most recent season and immediately going to the movies to see the inifinity castle play out was incredible!!! AH!!! the experience was good, we didn't have any seat neighbors at the cinema - a huge plus! and don't forget the slushie and popcorn. i wanted to go feral during that movie. please give it a try if you haven't! it's so beautifully done.

what else happened over the month of september... oh, yeah! i found the craziest thing at my local retro game shop. i've been an avid fan of the haruka naru games since i was in my wee tweens playing the untranslated version on my psp and pretending i knew ANYTHING that was on my screen. i bought an art book for haruka naru toki no naka de 3 at a local convention when i was around 14, and remember being SO enamored.

however, i was NOT getting my video games in the recommended way in our capitalistc society at that time (i was a teen and POOR). the psp is notoriously an easy handheld to get free things for (if u know, u know :3) so i was playing just about every japanese game i could think of. i had no idea that some games have little traps for you when you get them the not recommended way, and that was my first instance being locked out of a game. i remember being SO confused and sad, but i just went about my business and played haruka naru 2 and called it a day.

now, on my birthday i didn't want to do any big party. we can't right now since we're with my parents, but i did want to make it a special day for myself. my fiancee agreed to go shopping with me so we ran around town, got the cutest little trinkets, some yummy food, books!!! and we went to my local retro game store just to see if they had an american 3ds. I've been stopping in there sometimes to check their inventory, but haven't had a lot of luck with one i like that is an XL. i went in not thinking i'd find much, but maybe would get myself a treat like a new ps controller or something. as i was looking at the items behind the counter, i saw a line-up of games. i saw the title of the one on top, and had to have re-read it like, maybe 10 times before the realization hit me. i about SCREAMED, ya'll.

IT WAS THE PS2 VERSION OF HARUKA NARU TOKI NO NAKA DE 3!!!!!!

i ended up buying it along with the bundle the store was selling it with. all for SUCH a crazy good price. like, i got probably 10 games for the price of ONE. and a lot of them were tales of games!!! which i think are probably expensive in and of themselves. it felt like i was stealing almost. what a deal!!!!

my ps2 is unfortunately packed away at the moment, but i am SO looking forward to playing all of these when we move into our house in a few months. and maybe i'll bust out that art book, too!

gosh, i'm a yapper today. if you're reading this far, you're a real one.

other than that, we've just been slowly taking it day by day! i've been playing silent hill f, which i am LOVING so far! as we enter october and spooky time, i really wish i had my vr set up for spookality in vrchat, but i'm going to celebrate in other ways. halloweenie time, my friends!!!!

i hope you've had a good month, and may october bring you many a fun fright!

    see u next time!
