i want to read more! i want to study more! aaaa! i realized recently my kanji reading is NOT GOOD! at ALL! i need to do more studying, so even though a lot of what i'm playing recently is aimed more at kids/teens, i've been diligently playing my 3ds! one of the games I got is even for kanji specifically, and that is where i learned my kanji level is... way lower than i thought...

i think i may start to actually do more workbook studies again too once i get into the swing of life again! i love language and i love learning so i know i can do it but SHEESH! it just feels like there are never enough hours in the day for me to actually get stuff done...

so that's why i started reading a WHOLE NEW BOOK TOO!

it's been a fun, insightful little read so far. it's called "Your Brain on Art" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. i had seen it at my work a few times but thought nothing of it because my old boss made us read some books before that really didn't pertain to me in my role. so i was hesitant about this one. i heard one of my favorite tiktokers recommend it and saw her extensive note taking system along with it, and it really inspired me since i love to write in and highlight in books i read! i love reacting to things in real time because it really helps me remember it, and so as i've started this book, i busted out the highlighters, pencils, and pens to react to all of the info. i'm excited to learn more from this book and it's already helped support a thought i'm sure we've all had - that we like to be in places that are fun, colorful, and engaging because they're good for our brain. i've been on a big non-fiction kick lately, though... so i may bust out some thriller mysteries or crime fiction for autumn soon :D

see u next time
